Finance for Musical Instruments
At Balaam’s Music we operate the Take it Away Scheme. This is an Arts Council initiative and aims to increase access to musical instruments for children and young people by offering interest free loans up to £2000. You can take advantage of this scheme if you are buying an instrument for a child under the age of 18 or if you are aged between 18 and 25, and are buying the instrument for yourself.
Loans Towards the Cost of Your Instrument
The Take it Away Scheme can be used to borrow between £100 and £2000 towards the cost of your chosen instrument, especially useful for those wishing to learn some of the more expensive instruments such as the oboe or cello. You can even include music stands, sheet music and accessories pertinent to your instrument, within the loan.
Minimum 10% Deposit
A minimum of 10% of the loan amount needs to be paid at point of sale by debit or credit card. Though we also accept cash or cheque, proof of identity of needed. The outstanding amount is then paid back in equal instalments over nine months by direct debit. There is no administrative charge or handling fee when you take out the loan, so you will never have to pay more for your purchase than the ticket price.
